What are the main characteristics of the plate heat exchanger series liquid?
The main feature is that the medium with higher pressure flows into the medium with lower pressure, and abnormal pressure and temperature will appear in the system. If the medium is aggressive, it may also cause erosion of other equipment in the pipeline. The liquid flow usually occurs at the diversion area or the second sealing area.
What is the cause of the liquid in the plate heat exchanger?
1. Cracks or perforations due to plate erosion due to improper plate selection.
2. The residual stress after cold stamping of the sheet and the clamping size during assembly are too small to cause stress erosion.
3. The operation premise does not meet the design requirements.
4. There is a slight leakage at the plate leakage groove, causing harmful substances (such as C1) in the medium to concentrate and erode the plate to form a series of liquids. Example: A BR03 plate heat exchanger with a plate material of 254 SMo in a sulfuric acid system of an aluminum industry company, after running for 5 months, the carbon steel pipe on the cooling water side eroded and leaked, and the acid liquid leaked to the cooling water side. The inspection revealed severe erosion and cracking at the entrance of the plate acid solution and the diversion area. The on-site analysis found that the process parameters such as system operating temperature, flow rate and concentration are beyond the design premise, and the use temperature is far beyond the range of the material. Plate heat exchangers that use saturated steam as the primary side heat source are prone to plate erosion during operation, resulting in product liquid flow. This is because the steam temperature is high, and it is easy to cause the rubber seal to fail at high temperature during the operation of the equipment, causing steam leakage and rapid condensation in the second sealing area. With the continuous leakage, the condensed residual liquid will accumulate more and more, and the area with higher cl mass concentration will be formed locally, which will reach the erosion premise of destroying the passivation layer on the surface of the plate. At the same time, because the internal stress formed by the cold stamping of the plate in this area is relatively large, in the case where the surface passivation layer is destroyed, the internal stress action leads to the occurrence of stress erosion.
What are the treatment methods for plate heat exchangers?
1. Replace the cracked or perforated plates, and use the light transmission method to find the cracks on the plate.
2. The clamp size should meet the requirements when the heat exchanger is repaired and assembled, not as small as possible.
3. Adjust the operating parameters to meet the design premise.
4. Fair matching of plate materials.
